The safest, longest life, most responsive accumulators:
HydroTrole accumulators are constructed in accordance with what is
now generally known as ASME 8 UG 34 (m); being: flat un-stayed head with
lock ring (like a snap ring or “cir-clip”); so arranged that by virtue of
the relationship between wall thickness, distance into beginning of groove,
width of groove, depth of groove, a circumferential sealing ring escapes
on over pressurization thereby ensuring the depressurization of nitrogen
pre-charge stored energy dissipation before a dangerous pressure level can
be reached. Our accumulators have a built in tamper proof fail safe, and
the use of segmented lock ring, down a step, prevents removal before de-pressurization
which makes them all tamper proof.
The name hydro pneumatic accumulator covers those hydraulic
products that are designed specifically for the storage (accumulation) of
liquid under pressure. However, because of the improvements in design of
equipment, which has grown from the storage devices, other functions have
become loosely associated with the name accumulator. These other types of
units should more properly be called by their function, e.g.: Pulsation
Dampers, Liquid Borne Noise Silencers, Line Surge alleviators, Pump Controllers,
Transfer Barriers, etc.
