Hydraulic and Pneumatic equipment, for example accumulators,
must be recertified, to meet the Safety Requirements of the Pressure Equipment
Directive and: codes EX-EG EN5500, EN 13445, ASME VIII Div 1 etc. This recertification
must be done periodically.
The time that the accumulator or other pressurized equipment
is in use between recertification, is established according to the severity
of any cyclic duty, and the corrosiveness of the application and environment
in which the pressure equipment is in use.
HydroTrole Ltd has been engaged in this testing and certification
activity since 1965 and for the last ten years has conducted the process
under the control of its associate Liquid Dynamics International Ltd. ISO
9001 quality system, now ISO 9001-2000.
With 40 years of experience in the provision of surety,
the decisions of which of the following steps to be taken are necessary,
advisable, optional, or inappropriate; HydroTrole can give you your best
choices. HydroTrole recertification is your choice.
Hydraulic and Pneumatic Identification
Preliminary checks for hydraulic and pneumatic
recertification (for safe potential reuse) are necessary.
Hydraulic and Pneumatic Hardening Embrittlement Checking
Before further estimations of reusability are made, a
hardness test is made and compared with the expected figure for the
identified material.
Hydraulic and Pneumatic Corrosion Measurement
Before making a calculation of safe working pressure a measurement of the corrosion depth is made.
Hydraulic and Pneumatic Recertification / Calculations for
MAWP
Calculations to determine maximum allowable working pressure
(MAWP).
